I am feeling better not that I'm not so hormonal.
Also I had the oral surgery and PHEW what a immediate difference it made!! I feel soooo much better. They used giant screw needle to inject antibiotics into the bone. Then they basically stuck a thin knife around a tooth to let the pus out from the bone through the gum. Then I got a root canal to take care of that part. Dr. has strange sense of humor. Injection was really close to my sinuses. So he says ooops I better not poke through there!! EEEK!
Long time ago I was on my hands and knees cleaning and James and Steve were wrestling and crashed into me. Loud snappy sound and I couldn't stand or sit for 3 months. I don't know what happened to it because I never went to Dr. However I am positive I ruptured a disk or something. So occasionally it really flairs up. A lot of it has to do with overall inflammation and also just not exercising enough. Literally have to do stomach exercises and swim to keep it at bay.
Keep trying the prescription cortisone the Dr. gives you. But I've found it doesn't work if it doesn't stay on skin. Tough for it to do that on a surface you walk on or use as much as your hands. I've had bad eczema before and I had to wrap everything in plastic and ace bandages. But once I did that it only took a few more days to go away.
Me and Steve have has a really good week and we went to see hobbit for valentines day and I made desert. Desert was angel food squares layered with whip cream and strawberry's and lemon crumble. Including pic of desert and me brandishing a knife and making faces :P
Love you sis

That dessert look delicious!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that your dentist visit (for the most part) went well, and especially that you have some relief!
I would not be surprised if you did something to a disk in your back, it's pretty common, especially with slip & fall type injuries. Sounds like they kind of slip & fell into you, but it probably caused the same twisting yanking motion. I hope you can get it seen about at some point. Me, I'm looking forward to never going to the back dr unless I have to, because I'm certain at that moment they would be recommending surgery. No thank you! I'll wait until I'm old. :p
V-Day was pretty low-key but awesome. We got take out chinese food (hooray!) and all us girls got a chocolate heart from Gary (no I did not log my calories that day...lol). We also got a bottle of sangria and drank some after the girls went to bed, and then went to sleep nice and buzzy. I did have a hang over the next day though, lol, even though I hadn't drank much. I think the exhaustion + alcohol is a bad combo.
My glasses STILL haven't come and I am so upset. They arrived to the store but didn't pass inspection so they re-ordered them. Ugh. All this time I've been living with a huge smudge on one lense from where the superglue ran that's holding them together. Constant low level headache, refocusing, constantly pushing them up my face to find a clear spot etc. So, so annoying and frustrating. No idea when they'll be here now, but they said they will try to rush them. It will still probably be next week sine this one is winding down.
Which, sigh, is probably okay all things considered, It was in the negatives again here this morning, and our high is.... 4. :( We are seriously in a deep freeze this month, don't think it's hit 25 yet. I HATE it with a fiery passion that doesn't do anything to melt it!
As for the eczema, I'm certain the cause is systemic. I've had it since....2011? I know ways to keep medicine on it and that it must be moisturized and to avoid harsh soaps and metals etc, but it never ever ever gets more than 10-20% better. I'm not supposed to use the cream long term and I'm almost out, so no idea what I'm going to do about it now. It is better, but like I said, only by a little bit.
I'll make a post a little later to show you some pictures, because I really don't have any news. Love you!
Read that systemic eczema can be causes by allergies to nickel and dust mites. Says to try a low nickel diet, things like avoiding oatmeal and canned foods. Also an allergy to dust mites. Difficult one to control but do you get relief from taking a histamine pill?? Supposed to be bathes you can take to get mites and allergens off of skin. I've done some and they have made a difference. Boric acid bath and powder pultices. Tried any of these things? Any of them give relief??
ReplyDeleteNo baths make it worse, and I have drastically cut down on canned food since we started eating healthier. Sometimes we have canned beans for ease but it's a ton more rare now.
ReplyDeleteI get no relief from anything like benadryl, or even the stronger stuff they prescribed for my liver itch. Any kinds of lotions or creams (including caladryl, benadryl, anti-fungal, neosporin, and petroleum jelly) all make it worse. Wearing socks or shoes makes it worse. Tomatoes seem to make it worse for some reason, not even all the time, but I mostly avoid those now anyways. I can't seem to find any other correlations or treatments that work at all other than this cream and eczema-specific moisturizers twice a day, and even then only marginal improvement.
Sorry to be graphic here. The kind I have is dishydrotic eczema, little or big water-filled blisters than itch unmanageably until I scratch or cut them open, then they weep, crust, itch and dry out, crack, and leave a thick dark scar. Everywhere I've had them is more prone to getting them again,s o it's and endless cycle of itching and foot pain. I hate it!!!
That's part of why I was hoping (ha) that my thyroid was bad, because it would fix that and several other issues with treatment. Thyroid is fine, doctor won't really dig any deeper. Probably need to go to a derm, trying to save money for that (should have gone at tax time, but you know, car....)
Love you sis thanks for letting me vent about all this!
Also I'm sorry it took me so long to see your post, for some reason notifications keep going into "social" no matter how many times I change them to inbox, and those types don't send me a notification on my phone. I'll just keep checking manually. :p
