Never had tangine, but have always wanted to try it! There are recipes for it, but I'd like to have it at a restaurant before I try to make it, so I know what it's supposed to taste like!
I've never eaten it in a restaurant either. I used a recipe suggester for what I had on hand. Literally I just bought chicken. I already had all the other ingredients honey, dates, saffron, cinnamon, almonds, onions, cilantro and even a half used carton of stock. Basically the chicken gets really browned, the veges get really caramelized. Then you let it sit and cook so it develops a really thick sauce. This one has you pour a sauce on it that I don't think most do. The sauce contained the dates and almonds.
