Joined a Haiku group. Have no idea how long I will keep up with it but I've never wrote a haiku before. Now I've written like 3 or 4 and I'm so pleased with them lol
The funnest part is it's a game called haiku chase and there is 33 pages of them. They make really interesting reading aloud. The chase works so that the last sentence is the first line of the next haiku.
Heres an example!
Now it needs cleaning,
Large liquid lagoons of life
Cleanses empty souls

So fresh, so clean, and sparkly
Ripe for new spirit

Tortured souls feast on corpses
Anguished Surrender

I will suffer for Master
The darkness brings light

Visible now, horrid sight

Medusa of old turns bold
Manhood petrified

As ceramic forms take hold

Teased from a dirty furnace
Hot, glazed, charred and hard
I like it! Is there other kinds of writing groups too? I liked writing haikus in high school, but I'm much too wordy now. :p I'd like to try to get better at fiction writing, but have absolutely no idea where to go to do that.
ReplyDeleteI know that there is writing groups. I don't know where they are but alot of my favorite authors I read give credits to their writing groups.
